Frequently Asked Questions

Will you deliver my motorhome to my house and collect it on return?
Yes, this can be arranged at a reasonable cost, but make sure that there is somewhere to park for the demonstration of the equipment.

What if I don’t understand the instructions while I am away?
We operate a 24-hour help-line and we will only be too pleased to help in any way that we can.

What do I need to bring?
Very little. Check out the list of what we include as standard. It’s your option if you want to bring your own bedding and apart from that we provide almost everything else that you should need including the barbeque.

Is a motorhome more difficult to drive than a car?
No. You obviously have to allow for the length and width, but once used to that some people find it easier as the higher seating position gives a much better view of the road ahead.

Is the Satellite Navigation difficult to use?
Absolutely not. We use the TomTom One, the Which Magazine’s best buy scoring ‘excellent’ for ease of set-up and accuracy. It has a simple touch screen operation. We will show you how to use it and we will be pleased to help you put in your destinations.

Will the Fridge-Freezer work whilst the motorhome is travelling?
Yes. Simply turn it to the 12-volt setting and it will then work all the time the engine is running. When you arrive to collect your motorhome, it will be set and running ready for you to use straight away.

How many miles to the gallon will the motorhome do?
Your motorhome has a diesel engine and will do around 25-28 miles to the gallon, depending on how you drive.

How new are your motorhomes?
Our policy is to sell our motorhomes at two years old or 18,000 miles and replace them.

Can we park overnight off of campsites?
Yes, but refer to the advice in the “Your Adventure Holiday” page of this site. You have your own on board facilities of toilet and shower.

Why can’t I drive a motorhome if I am under 25?
It is because of the Driving Licence restrictions i.e. if you are younger than 25 you will have to pass another driving test to drive a motorhome. If you have taken and passed the additional test then you may then be able to hire a motorhome subject to the insurer’s approval.

Do you have any Automatic motorhomes?
Sorry no, only manual at this time.

How do we find you?
When you make the final payment we will send you a pack including full instructions and a map of where to find the pick up point.

Will my motorhome be right hand drive?
Yes.

Are the hire periods for a minimum 7 days?
Not in the low or mid seasons when the motorhomes can be booked from 3 or 4 nights, but in high season, 7 days or longer only.

When can we pick up the Motorhome and what is the drop off time?
The pick up time is 2 till 5 PM (later by arrangement). The latest drop off time is up to 10 AM. Your motorhome must be returned on time to allow for preparation for the next customer.

Are pets allowed in your motorhomes?
For allergy and hygiene reasons, no pets are allowed in our motorhomes.

Do you have anywhere I can leave my car while I'm away?
Off-road parking is available at the collection point. Your vehicle can be parked off road, but is left at owner’s risk.

Is there a mains electricity supply?
Within the motorhome there are standard 3 pin plug sockets. 230 volts are available when hooked up to an electrical supply offered at almost all campsites.

Do you have a list of caravan sites?
If you open the “Your Adventure Holiday” page of this site you will find a number of links to campsite finder websites. There will be a camp site directory on board, but we strongly advise you to join the caravan club so that you can plan your holiday and book sites in advance if you are going away in the busy season.

How long should I allow for the handover at the beginning of my holiday?
If its your first time with a motorhome, we suggest at least an hour to run through the equipment, until you are completely comfortable, but if you feel you need longer that won't be a problem at all.

Can you arrange to collect me from a Railway Station or Airport?
Yes we can arrange for you to be picked up and take you back.

If I'm traveling to you from abroad can I leave my suitcases with you when I've unpacked?
We shall be more than happy to store your suitcases.

Can I smoke in the motorhome?
Sorry but we must operate a strict NO SMOKING policy.

Why do I have to pay a £500 damage deposit?
This is the insurance excess during the hire and is fully refunded after the vehicle has been checked as long as the motorhome is returned undamaged, reasonably clean with the waste and toilet empty.

How does the insurance work?
Our motorhomes carry comprehensive motor insurance for the UK mainland; this is to cover damage to the vehicle or to third parties. If there is damage to the motorhome and the accident was your fault, your liability is the first £500, in the case of damage caused due to the third party we will retain the excess until it is agreed by the insurers that it is the other party’s fault (regrettably, many people claim that an accident was not their fault but it does turn out to be their responsibility). For overhead damage (eg from trees) you are liable for the first £1500. For write off or theft you are liable for the first £1500. Please note acts of negligence or abuse are completely your responsibility. The insurance does not cover your own personal belongings. You have to make your own arrangements for these.

These are general answers to frequently asked questions, but do not override the terms of hire.
